I decided to make a baby quilt for a friend. After selecting the fabric for her theme, I could not decide on a pattern for the quilt. Everything I thought of did not work. Then I decided to search the Internet and look for baby quilt patterns. Not only did I find the pattern that work for this fabric but a quick way to quilt as you go. So, I just had to try it. It was so easy.
I have spent time reviewing techniques in small works that I may want to use in my quilts. Below you will see images of my hand-dye fabrics, sun prints, painting on fabric and using confetti, free form curve piecing, and playing with inks and shaving cream. I love to hand-dye fabric, sun printing, painting on fabric and free form curve piecing. I will try the confetti again. As for the inks and shaving cream, no yet. Enjoy!
By the way, two of my quilts won first and second place at the SVQG show 2016, in the Artisan Art/Innovative category. See those images in gallery 1 and 2. Cheers
The sun still shines
the rain still falls
the wind still blows
the night glows with the moon and stars
and the sun rises for a new day
Life goes on….
